BCHA Festival of Wellbeing returns to Boscombe Gardens

BCHA has announced details of its free annual Festival of Wellbeing, which will be taking place on Friday 4th August in Boscombe Gardens.

The Bournemouth-based housing and social care provider, which helps homeless, vulnerable and other people access the right housing, health, learning and work opportunities, will be offering a wide-range of activities from 1pm – 4pm, including live music and entertainment, tasty food, family fun and games, raffle and lots more, with local band the ‘Hightown Crows’ playing two 45-minute headline sets.

BCHA’s own Ignite Project, which supports people back in to work and helps people to live life to the full, is once again leading the event, working in collaboration with a number of local wellbeing partner organisations such as Vita Nova, Skills & Learning, Crumbs, Dorset Mind, Faithworks, Boscombe Children’s Centre, Livewell Dorset, MyTime, Michael House and Healthwatch Dorset, Impact, Working Links, as well as BCHA’s own New Leaf Allotment, Floating Support, iSupport and Support4Me teams.

Jamie Clarke, Ignite Lead Development Coach at BCHA, explains, “This will be a great chance to find out more of what local support and wellbeing services are available in and around the Bournemouth and Boscombe area, as well as to enjoy some family fun and activities”.

Dr Andrew Mayers, Principal Academic at Bournemouth University and Patron for Dorset Mind said “I am honoured to be working with BCHA on this great event. I am pleased that so many groups are able to join us, including my colleagues at Dorset Mind. I think it will be a great, and fun, opportunity to raise awareness about health, mental health and well-being. Given that we will be in one of Bournemouth’s most popular venues, we will be able to reach out to local residents and tourists to show what we can do in partnerships locally.”

The event will run from 1 - 4pm and entry is free. For more details visit www.facebook.com/bcha.org.uk/
